Auckland Airport HVAC includes many systems; plantrooms and types of equipment. A multitude of Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units and Variable Air Volume Boxes are all fed from main Chillers and Boilers. Dedicated Ventilation, Smoke Exhaust Fans and Fresh Air Systems are integrated under a comprehensive Siemens BMS.
Economech has been the main mechanical contractor at the Auckland Airport since the early 1990s. We have undertaken projects ranging from major expansion stages to ongoing tenancy fit-outs and base build alterations.
Following the successful completion of the Pier Extension and Retail areas at Auckland International Airport, Economech was awarded the mechanical services installation of the $180 million International Terminal Redevelopment.
Working closely with Auckland International Airport Ltd and its Consultants, we provided significant design input to the project. Plus, our value-engineering services assisted in the optimisation of construction and operating costs. As the Terminal was ‘live’ throughout the construction period, all services, including air-conditioning, were required to be operational at all times.
Detailed planning by Economech allowed this to occur, and the impact on the public during the three-year construction period was minimal.
